GOING PHTHALATE-LESS!
Phthalate-less plasticizers are spiking in demand after a thorough evaluation brought to light some adverse impact of phthalates have on human health. It is said to disrupt a person’s health given a particular duration of exposure. We have kept this research in mind and focused on creating more of phthalates-less plasticizers.
Plasticizers formulated using Phthalate (phthalic acid) esters have the maximum usage vis-a-vis other compounds as an additive to soften the Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). With the pressing environmental and health concerns attached to phthalates, many plasticizer companies have been encouraging the R&D team in active researching and have successfully come up with a Non-Phthalate alternative.
At Nayakem, with a belief to evolve being in sync with nature and the living, the team has launched their NK-Series. A futuristic contribution of Non-Phthalate plasticizers chiefly produced using Benzoate ester which has been tested to be a good substitute against that of phthalates.
NK-SERIES & BENZOATE:
As a replacement and an eco-friendly alternative to phthalates, Benzoates seem to have stood the test of time. They are high solvent plasticizers that have super quick fusing property. They occur either as monobenzoate (benzoates) or dibenzoates.
Mostly used as a unique PVC plastisol applications for flooring and films, moulding, adhesives, etc. Benzoate plasticizers are formulated to cater to the need of just what a product demands i.e. strength, flexibility and durability.
LIST OF PHTHALATE-LESS PLASTICIZERS
You can find a variety of phthalate-less plasticizers, especially the NK-Series. They are composed of Diethylene Glycol Dibenzoate,DiPropylene Glycol DiBenzoate and several other blends. We have a separate manufacturing unit for these plasticizers free of phthalates.
- NK-131: A specialty plasticizer used as a replacement for Diisobutyl Phthalate (DIBP), Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) and Benzyl Butyl Phthalate (BBP). Being an organic liquid with a low viscosity it is preferably employed in plastisols, adhesives, sealants, caulks, latex paints, those uber flexible vinyl and more.
- NK-250: A non-phthalate plasticizer with an exclusive amalgamation of Diethylene Glycol Dibenzoate and DiPropylene Glycol DiBenzoate. It perfectly takes up the role of Phthalates like DBP and BBP. With an excellent polarity it serves the PVC as a high solvating agent. It goes well with Polyvinyl acetate (PVA), Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), rubbers and cellulose fibers. Furthermore, it offers immense resistance against staining, evaporation and extraction including negligible colour loss.
- NK-280: Yet another sole combination of Diethylene Glycol DiBenzoate and DiPropylene Glycol DiBenzoate, an addition to phthalate-free plasticizers, Benzoate plasticizers have the property to enrich the viscosity of the mixture.The waterborne adhesives impart effortless work due to this perfect blend. Apart from that it offers low setting time , considerable open times, high film flexibility, increased performance, and backs up the resistance of dried film to oil, grease and water. It imparts desirable results when used with Polyvinyl acetate (PVA), Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) etc.
- NK-2498: A polar, high-solvating benzoate plasticizer that is suitable for different polymer structure and usage . Being a distinct, colorless liquid it gives that feather soft feel, less cure interference, doubled resilience to any kind of wear and tear, and of course swell in certain mixture is optimized . It has been an all-purpose benzoate based plasticizer that has been rounding the trade scenario with their unbeatable performance.
- NK-5357: This one is a chemically stable, non-phthalic benzoate plasticizer. Comes with a high boiling point and has a phenomenal adaptability with Polyvinyl Chloride(PVC), Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA), Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA), Ethyl Cellulose, nitro cellulose, nitrile rubber, chloroprene rubber and Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR). Designed to be used for polyvinyl acetate homopolymer and copolymer emulsions, including PVC coatings, food packing adhesives and paints. One of the best counterparts used in place of DOP and DBP. It outweighs both the traditional phthalate variants in a considerable ways. Right from being super-efficient to just beautifully blendable with low volatility, low percolation
